ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion) studies are conducted in rodents and non-rodents housed in metabolism cages and usually conducted in the early stages of the drug discovery process. At CARE we offer custom-designed ADME studies in multiple species of lab animals.
The data collected from these studies are necessary to determine if the compound is a good candidate to move forward, as well as obtaining ADME data necessary to proceed to clinical trials.
In our non-GLP ADME studies we use a minimum number of animals and the data are often used to screen test articles or provide information necessary to proceed to a more definitive ADME study.
